Bredbandskollen has an evaluation function that, after a completed measurement, gives the user an answer on whether the result is acceptable, good or bad. This was developed because we felt it was difficult for an average user to assess how the result holds up in comparison with the speed the operator is supposed to deliver.
The thresholds used in the evaluation have been developed with the help of experienced experts at the IIS (Internet Foundation in Sweden) development team in consultation with Swedish Internet service providers.
The thresholds are based on the technical conditions applicable to the current connection type and speeds that can be considered reasonable in relation to the promised speed from the operator. For services where the speed is indicated by a range, an "approved" result should be above the lower limit, while a "good" result means the download speed is at least around 80-85% of maximum.
